Adult Language Classes

Adult School offers Swedish language classes for English-speaking adults on three levels:

Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced. Classes are held pending sufficient number of registered students.

The school offers 10 week courses each semester. The tuition i $269.00 plus materials for approximately $60.00.

Introductory Swedish

Introductory Swedish will provide the basic language skills to greet native speakers, make some simple needs known, and a vocabulary on which to further build phrases for, possibly, travel in Sweden. Fundamental grammar, pronunciation, spelling, and reading will also be an integral part of the course. As in all our Swedish classes, Introductory Swedish will provide an orientation in Swedish geography, history, and culture, and how the latter manifests itself in present-day Swedish society.

Intermediate Swedish

In the Intermediate class we will practice communication, building on the fundamental grammar skills and vocabulary learned in the Introductory class. Students will also continue to build their vocabulary and practice their sentences.

Advanced Swedish

The focus of this class is on communication. Student will be able to express themselves in more complex sentences and discuss topics such as vacations, work, and family. They will also work on vocabulary, pronunciaton and grammar, reading articles and writing short texts.

Mondays/Thursdays 7:00 p.m. - 8:45 p.m.
